Looking for a resort that brings Disney magic to life while giving your family space to spread out, recharge, and enjoy prime proximity to EPCOT? Let me introduce you to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort—where vintage charm meets modern convenience, and where my daughter and I had one of our most memorable stays yet.
As a Disney travel advisor, a lifelong fan of the parks, and a mom who loves exploring every detail of a resort, I’m here to share all the highs (and a few honest lows) from our recent trip. Let’s dive into everything we experienced at the Boardwalk Resort.
The moment we arrived at Boardwalk Resort after a quick airport transfer, we felt like we had stepped back in time in the best possible way. The art deco design and whimsical 1920s boardwalk aesthetic immediately set the tone for a stay that felt playful and elegant all at once.
We stayed in a recently renovated One-Bedroom Villa, and I was genuinely impressed by the updates. The space was fresh, stylish, and—best of all—practical for families.
If you’re a parent, you know that the layout of a hotel room can make or break your trip. And Boardwalk’s villa setup nailed it. The split bathroom layout was a game-changer—one person could shower while another got ready at the sink, which kept our mornings running smoothly.
There was also plenty of closet space—a huge win when you’re traveling with a child and all the “just in case” gear that comes with it. I especially appreciated that we didn’t have to tuck the Pack ‘n Play into a corner of the bathroom like we did at Riviera.
Another small-but-mighty detail: outlets everywhere. Between phones, tablets, and cameras, I always have something charging, and Boardwalk delivered on convenience.
One of our most memorable meals was at Flying Fish. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was elevated but accessible, and my daughter loved the salmon on the kids’ menu. It’s rare to see a kids’ entrée that’s both nutritious and delicious, and this one stood out.
We also enjoyed a meal at Trattoria al Forno. The dishes were satisfying, especially if you’re a fan of rustic Italian cuisine, though I still rank Terralina higher overall for Italian food on property.
If there’s one place the resort could improve, it’s the quick-service dining. The location felt cramped, and the lack of indoor seating made it uncomfortable at times. It’s fine for a grab-and-go breakfast or snack, but not where I’d choose to eat a relaxed meal.
What truly sets the Boardwalk Resort apart is the atmosphere, especially once the sun goes down. The lively boardwalk comes alive with street performers, carnival games, and people just soaking in the energy.
There’s also a great mix of lounges and quiet corners for the grown-ups. I loved unwinding at Bellevue Lounge and watching the activity along the water. Whether you want to join the fun or just enjoy the view, the ambiance is unbeatable.
Let’s be honest—the number one reason families love the Boardwalk Resort is its walkability to EPCOT. You’re just steps away from the International Gateway entrance, which means you can start your day at the World Showcase with zero stress.
For my family, being able to walk to EPCOT (and even Disney’s Hollywood Studios, if you’re up for a stroll) was a huge perk. No buses, no waiting—just a peaceful morning walk to the parks.
Boardwalk Resort might not be the perfect fit for everyone—but it checked so many boxes for us:
✅ Spacious, family-friendly rooms
✅ Excellent dining options
✅ Lively evening entertainment
✅ Unbeatable proximity to EPCOT
The only downside was the quick-service dining area, but in the grand scheme of things, it was a small hiccup in an otherwise fantastic stay.
If you’re looking for a resort with energy, charm, and a dose of Disney nostalgia, I’d absolutely recommend Boardwalk. If you’re dreaming of a quieter, more tranquil escape, you might prefer one of Disney’s more serene options like the Grand Floridian or Saratoga Springs.
