The tour begins at Australia House, the inspiration for Gringotts Wizarding Bank, where you can easily imagine goblins scurrying inside, guarding treasures and secrets. Your next stop is Great Scotland Yard, the entrance to the Ministry of Magic in the films. The sight of this unassuming doorway makes you realize how seamlessly the magical world of Harry Potter blends into our own.
As you walk through the city, your guide will share fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the films. You’ll pass by other significant spots, including the Westminster Tube Station, which was used in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” The tour ends at King’s Cross Station, where you can take a photo at the iconic Platform 9¾. Don’t forget to visit the Harry Potter shop nearby to stock up on souvenirs!
In the afternoon, head over to Cutter & Squidge for a Potions Afternoon Tea. Set in a whimsical potions class with cauldrons and spellbooks, you’ll sip on bubbling teas and mocktails while enjoying wizard-themed treats like “cauldron cakes” and “potion pot pies.” It’s an experience that’s sure to leave you spellbound. 😉
After your magical tea, take a stroll across the Millennium Bridge. You may remember this bridge from “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” where it was dramatically destroyed by Death Eaters.
You’ll have had a long day of walking, so enjoy a delicious dinner, put up your feet, and get ready for tomorrows adventures!
Start your day with a visit to Leadenhall Market, a stunning Victorian market that served as the entrance to Diagon Alley in the first Harry Potter film. The beautiful architecture and vibrant atmosphere will transport you straight into Harry’s world. Browse the quaint shops and perhaps pick up a magical trinket or two along the way.
Next, make your way to the Tower of London. Although not directly related to Harry Potter, this historic fortress should not be missed during your time in London. Explore the ancient towers, marvel at the Crown Jewels, and learn about the fascinating history of this iconic landmark. The Tower’s storied past, filled with tales of intrigue and mystery, entertains both kids and adults
For lunch, head to Borough Market, one of London’s most renowned food markets which served as the location for the Leaky Cauldron in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.” This bustling market is filled with incredible food options, from gourmet cheeses and cured meats to fresh produce and artisanal baked goods. I recommend doing a thorough walk around before deciding what to eat as the options are truly endless!
In the evening, if you’ve managed to secure tickets, treat yourself to a performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This two-part play continues the story of Harry Potter and his family. The incredible stage effects and captivating storyline is a great option for kids. If the play isn’t an option, consider visiting a themed pub like The Cauldron for dinner, where you can enjoy magical cocktails and a wizard-inspired menu.
Set an early alarm and catch a train to Oxford, a city brimming with academic history and Harry Potter filming locations. When you arrive, you’ll immediately feel the academic air and historic charm of this iconic university town.

The grandeur of the hall, with its high ceilings and long wooden tables, will make you feel as if you’re about to sit down for a feast with the Hogwarts students. While there, don’t miss the stunning staircase where Professor McGonagall greeted the first-year students in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
Next, visit the Bodleian Library, one of the oldest libraries in Europe and used as the Hogwarts library in the films. The quiet, scholarly vibe and the scent of old books make you feel like you’re on a quest for magical knowledge. The library’s stunning architecture, with its high ceilings and intricate details, is truly a sight to behold.
Continue to the cloisters of New College, where you can wander through the same corridors that Harry, Ron, and Hermione did. The serene surroundings and historic architecture offer a perfect backdrop for reflection and imagination.

Don’t miss the chance to wander through the Forbidden Forest, where you’ll encounter magical creatures like Buckbeak the Hippogriff and Aragog the Acromantula. Board the Hogwarts Express and take a stroll along Platform 9¾, imagining yourself on a journey to Hogwarts.
One of the highlights of the tour is the detailed model of Hogwarts Castle, used for many of the exterior shots in the films. The model is incredibly detailed and beautifully crafted, offering a magical end to your studio tour experience.
Return to London in the evening for dinner, filled with a newfound appreciation for the magic behind the movies.
Today, you’ll travel to Edinburgh, the birthplace of Harry Potter. Board the train from London and imagine yourself on the Hogwarts Express, heading to a new term at Hogwarts.
Upon arrival in Edinburgh, take some time to explore the city. Begin with a visit to Victoria Street, said to be the inspiration for Diagon Alley. The colorful buildings and quirky shops create a magical atmosphere. Wander through the historic Royal Mile, where you can feel the rich history and culture of the city.
In the evening, have dinner at The Elephant House, the café where J.K. Rowling wrote much of the Harry Potter series. The cozy atmosphere and delicious food make it a perfect spot to end your first day in Edinburgh.
Set out early for a day trip to Alnwick Castle, about 1.5 hours from Edinburgh. This majestic castle served as a filming location for Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter films.
When you arrive, take a guided tour of the castle. Walk through the same grounds where Harry, Ron, and Hermione had their broomstick flying lessons. The castle’s stunning architecture and beautiful gardens provide a perfect backdrop for photos, so don’t forget to stop and snap your photos!
Participate in a broomstick training session, where you can learn to fly just like a Hogwarts student! It’s a fun and unique experience that’s sure to be a highlight of your trip.
After a magical day at Alnwick Castle, return to Edinburgh. Spend the evening exploring more of the city or enjoying a leisurely dinner.
On your final day, start with a visit to Edinburgh Castle, perched high on a hill with stunning views of the city. Explore the historic rooms and learn about the castle’s fascinating history.
