I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things about Disney is the food! Deciding where to eat (and what new snacks to try!) is one of the first things I do when planning a Disney vacation. Delicious cuisine is one of my absolute favorite things about trips—there’s nothing that brings back the memories of a magical vacation quite like the taste of your favorite dish! Whether you want to remember a past trip or you’re just looking for ways to build excitement for a postponed or upcoming vacation, try some of my favorite Walt Disney World copycat recipes for a taste of Disney (all without leaving your front door)!

Hummingbird Cake
Homecomin‘
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that Homecomin’ is my favorite restaurant on the property. I’ve challenged myself to eat at every single restaurant in Disney World, so I rarely return to restaurants I’ve already eaten at, but Homecomin’ is the only exception. In fact, it’s so fantastic that I have to go EVERY time I am in Orlando, even if it’s just for a few hours! And even better—these Disney recipes are available in Art Smith’s cookbooks, leaving out the guesswork of many other Disney recipes. My Art Smith cookbooks get a lot of use in my house, but here are two of my favorites:
Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Hummingbird Cake
Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Shrimp & Grits

Dole Whip
Dole Whip
Another one of my favorite Disney recipes is a Disney classic: Dole Whip! Despite trying a few copycat recipes, I haven’t found anything that exactly replicates the consistency. I ended up buying a soft serve machine, and I found the mix they use on Amazon. But when I need a little bit of that special taste and don’t feel like lugging my machine out, I love this recipe:
Ohana Pineapple Bread
I am a big fan of pineapple—I love it as a symbol of hospitality in my home decor, I love the message it sends to stand tall and wear a crown, and, of course, I love to eat it! This coconut and pineapple bread from Ohana is another staple in my house:
Another favorite from Ohana I love to make are the Honey Coriander Wings. This recipe is INSANELY easy as well!
Hoop De Doo Cornbread
Cornbread will always remind me of Walt Disney World. During a family trip, we ate at the Magic Kingdom’s Diamond Horseshoe, which had been recently converted from a seasonal quick service restaurant to an all-you-can-eat family style meal. We all enjoyed the cornbread so much that we asked for more!

Our server even noticed that my sister-in-law had hid some cornbread under her napkin and called her out for food hoarding. He was so fun and delightful throughout the meal, and kept us laughing the whole time! We paid our compliments to his manager, and it turns out that he was just filling in. He actually worked at the Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper Canteen, where we had reservations for just a few days later! When we arrived, we requested him as our server. Remembering how much we loved the cornbread, he went over to the Diamond Horseshoe, grabbed us a bowl, and dumped it on our table!
While I don’t have a recipe for the Diamond Horseshoe’s cornbread, my family and I enjoy this similar recipe from the Hoop Dee Doo Revue:

Cheddar cheese soup
Hollywood Brown Derby Cobb Salad
Did you know that Cobb salad was invented at the original Hollywood Brown Derby in LA? Since that restaurant closed, the only place you can get an original Cobb salad is at its sister location in Hollywood Studios. This Disney recipe may deter a few picky eaters, but on a hot day, there’s nothing better than sitting inside and splitting this enormous salad with a martini and a slice of grapefruit cake.

Le Cellier Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup
I love the cheddar cheese soup served at Le Cellier and at Canada’s festival booths, but it’s usually way too hot there to truly enjoy it. That’s why I like to recreate this delicious soup at home, although I will admit that I haven’t perfected it yet. Next, I need to work on the pretzel bread, because the soup just isn’t quite the same without it.
Le Cellier Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup
Admittedly, Disney dining just isn’t quite the same without the view of Cinderella’s Castle or a cast of kooky characters waiting to amuse you during your meal, but Disney recipes—anything from Disney classic Dole Whip to Le Cellier’s Cheddar Cheese Soup—are a surefire way to bring a taste of Disney to your front door.
