Moms work hard—I mean, REALLY hard. In addition to any job they may already have, they are also a maid, cook, chauffeur, jungle gym, teacher, referee, nurse, and superhero! Your mom has put a ton of work into planning a perfect Disney vacation for your family. With Mother’s Day coming up, I thought it would be fun to share some ways you could surprise your mom with something special during your trip.
Make a Reservation at a Special Restaurant
Most of the time, Moms make dining reservations based on what they think their children will love. They rarely think about making a reservation at a restaurant they would like to try. Reach out to your travel agent and have them help you pick a special dining experience your Mom will love. Here are some of my favorite Disney restaurants you should go out of your way for.
Look out for Mother’s Day Events
If you are actually in Walt Disney World for Mother’s Day keep an eye out for special event announcements on Disney Parks Blog. In addition to special sweet treats and themed cupcakes at places like Amorette’s Patisserie, the Ganachery and Main Street Bakery, there’s also usually a few special Mother’s Day Brunches and Dining Experiences. In the past there have been special brunch buffets at the Wave, Everything Pop!, Ale and Compass, Flying Fish and the Turf Club. If you are not visiting on Mother’s Day weekend but have a Mom that loves Brunch check out the Sunday brunch offerings at California Grill, Maria & Enzo’s, Raglan Road, or my favorite, Homecomin.
Order a Delivery to the Room
Disney Floral and Gifts has made it really easy to do something special for Mom. They offer a service that will deliver flowers, balloons, snacks and gift baskets to your Disney resort room. They even have some unique ways for you to honor Mom with special Mother’s Day floral arrangements, spa gift set or personalized tote bag filled with Disney snacks!
Schedule A Massage
This is my favorite on this list. Give Mom a little R&R!! I usually like to do this in the middle of a trip to soothe those aching muscles and get you ready for more insane walking in the days ahead. Massages are available at Coronado Springs, The Yacht Club, Grand Floridian, or Saratoga Springs.
Relax By the Pool
Moms sometimes need a little alone time to recharge. But as a Mom, I know they don’t want to miss a single minute of the vacation. They want to enjoy every experience with you. To give Mom the time she needs plan some down time on one of the days of your trip. Hang out and play games in the room and let Mom head to the pool or while you are at the pool let her take a little nap. If you Mom likes to read maybe surprise her with a new book for this time.
Book an Activity YOUR Mom Will Love
Walt Disney World has something for everyone, and you will find something special that will fit your Mom perfectly. Disney offers fishing, horseback riding, carriage rides, cake decorating classes, paint night and so much more. I personally would love the high tea experience at the Grand Floridian Resort. Tell your travel agent a little bit about your Mom and they will help you find the perfect special activity for them.
I hope this inspired you with the perfect idea of what you could do for your Mom. Even if you are not going to be in Walt Disney World this mother’s day you can certainly add a little Disney magic to your day. I love this Mother’s Day Tray idea from Disney Parks Blog.
