Among the top five questions from families planning a vacation to Disney’s theme parks is “When is the best time to visit Walt Disney World?”
The best time is subjective, but it’s usually defined as lowest crowd levels, lowest price, moderate temperatures with mild weather. Let’s be honest, most people want to visit Florida on a sunny, but not too hot day with low crowds at the lowest price possible! I’ll let you in on a secret, it doesn’t really work like that. You can usually only get one, maybe two of the three.
You can google the best time to visit Walt Disney World and find thousands of answers. Anywhere you look online will tell you to avoid Christmas week, and if you are visiting then, you are going to enjoy wonderful events, but the lines for attractions will be extremely long.
The traditional crowd calendars have been a great resource, but are becoming increasingly popular, and therefore less accurate. With everyone following internet advice, Disney is smoothing out their downtimes with enticing events and promotions.
The crowd calendars also directly impact Disney traveler’s habits. As a kid, we used to go in October because the weather was great and the crowds were low. But now, because so many blogs have collectively said October was the best time to go, it is one of the busiest times. On the other hand, so many people say to avoid the summer because of crowds that it’s become one of the quietest (but hottest) times of the year.
Advice about when to go and not to go is helpful, but if a busy time is the only time you can go, then go! With a little bit of planning and patience, you will have a wonderful time regardless of the number of people around you. To look into a holiday Disney trip, click here.
